Start of 2020 Spring Semester

The first class of the Mission School of Ministry 2020 Spring semester starts this Thursday, January 7th!

The first eight weeks of the semester will be History & Theology II: Reformation, Enlightenment, and the Great Awakening, taught by Dr. Jonathan Yeager, Associate Professor of Religion from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

The last eight weeks of the Spring semester will be History & Theology III, which is a new course to the MSM catalog, taught by Dr. Sam Youngs, Dean of the Mission School of Ministry.

Each class period will be punctuated by “Formation through Fellowship.” This hour to hour and half period of time is deliberately set aside for students and faculty to spend time in fellowship with each other over refreshments, with ever couple of weeks this time is devoted to prayer for each other and the Order of Compline, from the Book of Common Prayer. The Mission School of Ministry believes strongly that the shaping and formation of an individual should be holistic. Time together, encouraging each other, is just as important as our studies and time in the classroom.

If you have any questions about joining the Mission School of Ministry, please see Admissions  and Program Details for further information.

As always, feel free to reach out to Dr. Sam Youngs, Dean of the Mission School of Ministry, and/or Josiah Newport, Mission Abbey intern, for further assistance.
